2. Summary
This is a static personal website. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, has no user accounts, comment forms or newsletter, and loads no fonts or scripts from third-party services. Fonts are served from this domain. The only processing of personal data is the technically necessary delivery of the site by the hosting provider, and emails you choose to send me.
3. Hosting (Cloudflare Pages)
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (“Cloudflare”). When you visit the site, Cloudflare processes technical connection data needed to deliver it: your IP address, date and time of the request, the requested URL, the referrer URL, and your browser and operating system. This data is used to deliver the site and protect it against attacks, and is not combined with other data sources.
Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is the secure and efficient delivery of this website. Cloudflare may process data in the USA. Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and an adequacy decision of the European Commission applies (Art. 45 GDPR). Processing is also covered by Cloudflare’s data processing addendum (Art. 28 GDPR), which is part of Cloudflare’s terms for its customers. Details:cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
4. Contact by email
If you email me, I process your email address and the content of your message to reply. Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your message relates to a contract or pre-contractual steps. I delete the correspondence once it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
5. Embedded media and external links
Videos and interactive figures on this site are self-hosted and load no third-party content. Links to external websites (for example LinkedIn or Google Scholar) are ordinary links. No data is sent to those services unless you click them, after which their privacy policies apply.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your personal data (Art. 15),
- rectification (Art. 16) and erasure (Art. 17),
- restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20),
- object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21),
- lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77), for example the one responsible for me: Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen (LDI NRW), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf.
